Canada – The Most Preferred Nation To Settle For International Students

Canada is successfully attracting its international students to apply for Canadian Permanent Residency. Students from foreign countries are feeling Canada as the top destination for their overseas education & careers. The immigration system, education system and the economic status contribute to attracting skilled workers and skilled students for Permanent Residency.

According to the statistics, the international students who have changed their status from international students to Canadian PR’s, have risen immensely in a quick time-frame. As per the figures of 2017s federal government, 9,410 students with Study Permits have transformed to Permanent Residents. Alike, the government of Canada is also, in favor of candidates with Canadian education to become Permanent Residents through Canada Express Entry.

During an Express Entry draw of 2017, 36% of the ITAs or the Invitations to Apply were issued to candidates having education background from Canada. While converting the percentage into a number, 30,600 former students of Canada from various countries received an ITA. Though an ITA doesn’t assure of having Canada PR, it can even be a good impact to Canada if at least half of the number receive an opportunity to stay as Canadian PRs.

Canada has been advancing its immigration process for supporting candidates wishing for migrating to Canada. From Student Visas to Canadian Citizenship; the number of people applying has increased rapidly. In the year 2017, the candidates from a lower standard of education to post-graduate level constituted 494,525 international students. Every year, nearly an amount of $15 billion is received to the Canada economy with the funds provided by the International Students.

Canada and the US are the most targeted nations by international students and workers. But after the introduction of the Donald Trump’s Administration, there are many difficulties being faced by the international students and, this resulted in the drop down in the opinion to choose the U.S for abroad education. The number of candidates choosing the higher education in the U.S dropped from 840,160 in 2016 to 808,640 in 2017, i.e. with a drop of 4%.

While the U.S is observing the drop downs, Canada with its simplified immigration system and benefits is making the international students seek Canada for Permanent Residency.
