Australia announces the increase in the visa fee

Effectively from July’19, the applicant has to pay 5.4% more on almost all visa category of Australia. This news is a follow up in earlier announcement where the coalition stated it will reduce Australia annual migration intake from 190,000 to 160,000 for the next 4 years.

Earlier, the government decided to invest $64.2 million for social cohesion, under which the new immigrants are assisted to establish and integrate in to Australian communities.

How Australia budget is going help new immigrants?

Under the budget of 2019-2020 for

  1. An amount $12 million is allocated to establishing the Community Languages Multicultural Grants Program.
  2. A budget of over $22.6 million will be spent on growing the national community hubs program.
  3. And, an additional $7.3 million will be spent on fostering integration grants to support community organizations.
