IRCC conducted its 78th Draw on December 6, 2017. This latest draw invited nearly 2750 candidates whose CRS was 452. With this draw, Canada has successfully issued over 83,273 ITAs in 2017. Solely by this draw, the count of total ITAs (148,118) issued since the introduction of Canada Express Entry System has increased by 54 percent.
Amazingly, this first draw of December made use of the tie-break procedure which was introduced by IRCC in June. This means that candidates with 452 points who entered Express Entry before a specific date and time were invited to apply. In this case, the time and date was noted to be November 16, 2017, at 04:20:20 UTC
When compared to the previous draw of Express Entry, the cut-off score has levelled up by 13 points. However, the number of invitations remained exactly same as the previous draw.
On a keen observation, the ITA numbers have remained on a good level till this draw date. It is believed to achieve the targets of the recently announced that multi-year immigration plan, the country will increase its ITA count by more 20 percent between 2018 and 2020. Also, it is hoped that the CRS will gradually drop and more Draws would take place at regular intervals.
