According to the latest news released by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada, there would be certain changes to the Canada Express Entry system effective from June. Since its introduction in January 2015, Canada Express Entry has invited over 43,000 skilled immigrants with skills and experience majorly linked to technology, mathematics, science and engineering.
With an aim to optimize the Canada Express Entry, the Canadian Immigration department in association with the Canadain government has planned to allow additional points to candidates with proficient French language knowledge and skills. The government believes that this initiative will eventually help the Francophone minority communities of Canada to grow and prosper. The recently elected Immigration Minister, Ahmed Hussen in this context said “Increasing Francophone immigration and growing Francophone communities across Canada remains a priority for the Government of Canada. Canada’s greatest strength is its skilled, hard-working, creative, and diverse workforce. I am pleased that with my announcement today, Canada will welcome more French speakers and others with skills and experience that will help our economy and communities grow”.
Besides, giving additional points to candidates with French language knowledge, applicants who have siblings in Canada will also be allotted with extra points. Sources reveal that registration with Job Bank will also become voluntary. Candidates who do not have a job in hand from Canada can start their job search by registering with Job Bank for free and parallelly look for jobs through their own sources. The recent changes to the CRS system of Canada Express Entry of November 2016 and these proposed changes which are expected to come into effect from June, 2017 indicate that IRCC is now de-emphasizing on the job factor for applicants within Express Entry Pool and, instead is promoting applicants to improve their human capital and skills factor.
