Canada Has Introduced Improved Provincial Pathways To Ease Immigration

Posted on October 11, 2018

Canada Immigration department spent most of the time in the month of July, August and September innovating as well as issuing more than 3000 invitations to Canada Express Entry linked Provincial Nominee Program applicants seeking them to apply for provincial nomination for Canadian Permanent Residency status.

In the third quarter of 2018, the big news was largest invitation round was held in this quarter for the year through Ontario’s Human Capital Priorities stream. The Saskatchewan’s province switch to an Expression of Interest system for its Express Entry sub-category and Nova Scotia’s Labour Market Priorities stream was created.

The Provincial Nominee Programs or PNPs enable participating Canadian provinces as well as territories to nominate a set number of immigration candidates for Canadian PR each year.

All Canadian provinces and territories with a PNP will now have at least one enhanced nomination stream that is linked to the Federal Express Entry System. It helps manage the candidate’s profile in Canada’s 3 major Federal Economic Immigration Categories they include the Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trade Class and the Canadian Experience Class.

All those of Express Entry candidates who have got the provincial nomination would be receiving 600 points towards their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score; they will effectively fast-track them for an invitation to apply for the Canadian Permanent residency status.
