The Canada Immigration Government has introduced a new Pilot Program for the benefit of the communities belonging to the Rural and Northern Communities. The program will be providing the opportunity for the applicants with various skill levels to apply for Canadian Permanent Residence. The Northern and the Rural communities belong to the Ontario province, Western Canada, etc.
New PR Pathway for Northern and Rural Communities
The new Canada Immigration program introduced for the Northern and Rural communities is a pathway offering Canadian Permanent Residence for the eligible applicants who have various skills. Also, the program has been designed similar to the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP) which was launched by the Canadian Government in 2017.

Communities and their Eligibility
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has stated the Rural and Northern regions as the eligible communities under the New Pilot Program. According to the IRCC, communities with a population more than 50,000 or less located with minimum 75 kilometers from the metropolitan area of over 100,000, or a city with up to 200,000 residents of a remote category.
How to submit applications for the New Pilot Program?
Canada’s Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship – Ahmed Hussen has stated that “By creating an immigration pilot aimed at rural and northern communities, we’re looking to ensure that the benefits of immigration are shared across the country.” Candidates with the eligibility to participate in the pilot program have to coordinate with local economic development organizations for submitting their applications by March 2019. And, the candidates who will be selected are announced possibly during the spring of the year.
However, the selected communities for the Rural and Northern Pilot Program have to provide their available employment opportunities and involve in linking the jobs for the Canada immigration candidates.
