Canada to invite candidates weekly for OINP Human Capital Priorities StreamPosted on May 8, 2017
Ontario province of Canada has recently made an announcement with regards to its Human Capital Priorities stream of Ontario PNP, Canada Express Entry. It is stated that applicants of the Express Entry Pool interested of this stream would be issued Notifications of Interest (NOIs) on a weekly basis. Initially there was an announcement made that OINP would be issuing (NOIs) on all throughout the year 2017 and now it is evident that it would make it happen every week.
What makes the Ontario’s Human Capital Priorities Stream Unique?
Though the Ontario PNP Human Capital Priorities Stream is a part of the Canada Express Entry, it has different approach. It is neither a first-come first served program not an EOI based program. OINP searches for eligible candidates from the pool who have the skills and talent to be a part of the province employment market and contribute to its growth. Selected candidates are issued with a Notification of Interest- which in itself is an Invitation to Apply for the program for a provincial nomination certificate.
Post receiving this NOI, candidates have six months to register on Ontario’s online application system. After registration, 14 days time frame is allotted to submit the application. A fee of $1,500 CAD as processing fee is to be paid to the Government.
Who is eligible for this stream?
Candidates with the following factors will be eligible for the Ontario Human Capital Priorities Stream:
- Intention to reside in Ontario
- Express Entry profile, along with CRS of min 400 points
- Min one year full time experience in past five years (for candidates who chose to be assessed against FSW)
- Min one year of full time experience in past three years (for for candidates who chose to be assessed against CEC)
- At least Bachelor’s degree or higher (ECA approved)

Exclusive update on OINP
On May 5, 2017 Ontario government encouraged potentially eligible candidates of the Express Entry Pool to create new profiles in order to ease it for Ontario to identify their recent skills during the search of the Express Entry pool. This was updated through their website. However, candidates who create a new profile must delete their old one.
