Canada Provinces Fishing talents from the Canada Express Entry Pool

Candidates, who have entered into the Canada Express Entry Pool after qualifying on the eligibility criteria, might be selected under the Provincial Nominee Program  by some of the specialized nomination streams in Nova Scotia, Ontario, and Alberta. These streams are searching for candidates having required work experience in a particular job. These candidates are invited to apply for the permanent residence in the province which has nominated him.

These streams are known as the “Passive” streams where the candidates can apply only if they are selected by the province. The candidates from the Canada Express Entry Pool, who are selected for Provincial Nomination, have an added 600 points to their CRS score which increases their chances of receiving the permanent residence status.

Below are the lists of streams the provinces use to choose candidates from the Canada Express Entry Pool

Nova Scotia

  • Labor market priorities

Nova Scotia uses this stream to choose candidates to fill in the labor crisis in a particular industry as per the Labor Market. A draw was conducted in August 2018 for early childhood educators and assistant and recently in January 24th, another draw was conducted for the financial auditors and accountants. The cutoff CRS score was 400. According to David Cohen, senior partner at the Campbell Cohen Canadian immigration law firm in Montreal, it is important to state your work experience in your Canada Express Entry profile to increase the visibility of your profile.

Alberta

  • Alberta Express Entry

This stream looks for candidates who can add to the economic growth and diversification of the province. Candidates having work experience in Canada, have done their post-secondary education in Canada or have relatives/siblings settled in Canada will be given priorities. The cutoff CRS score for Provincial Nomination under this stream is 300.

Ontario
