E-Tourist visa on Arrival introduced at the Vishakhapatnam International AirportPosted on December 18, 2017
After a continuous appeal, the International Central Government gave a green to introduce the e-TVOA at Vishakhapatnam International Airport. The e-Tourist Visa on Arrival (e-TVOA) was inaugurated at the respective airport by the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu on December 16, 2017.
It was in April 2016 that after following a representation from the Tours and Travels Association of Andhra (TTAA), the Vishakhapatnam MP and BJP State President sent a proposal to Home Affairs Ministry and External Affairs Ministry regarding this initiative.
On the onset of this facility, several designators expressed their gratitude. They said that with this launch of the e-TVOA facility, the tourists of South India State will certainly experience a smoother tourism and eventually contribute to an overall development of the South India tourism sector.
With this facility now introduced in Vishakhapatnam, India successfully has 16 airports providing e-tourist visa facility. Nationals of 147 countries arriving at the airports of Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Kerala, Varanasi, Goa, Amritsar, Tiruchi, Gaya and Jaipur can avail this facility.
Moreover, several of these airports give nationals of Finland, Laos, Japan, Cambodia, Luxembourg, Myanmar, Indonesia, New Zealand, Philippines, Vietnam and Singapore a facility of obtaining the TVOA (tourist visa on arrival). This means that nationals of these countries neither need neither an e-visa nor a visa copy before they enter India.
