According to the latest news released by CICnews.com, Canada’s prominent portal for immigration news updates, the Alberta province is all set to launch an Express Entry stream in January, 2018. This stream will allow the province to use a portion of its allocation for Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) to nominate candidates from the Express Entry pool. By doing so, Alberta will now be among the all other provinces who have alteast one of their PNP streams aligned with Express Entry.
Canada’s Immigration Level Plan for 2017 shows that the country has set up to a target of inviting 54,000 new permanent residents solely through PNP programs. Sources reveal that the ICCRC authorized Alberta Immigration Nominee Program shall issue up to 5,500 nomination certificates in 2017. This certificate increases scores of applicants by 600 CRS and boos their chances to receive a quicker PR visa. In this context, the Labour Minsiter, Christina Gray quotes:
“Immigrants are a valued part of our workforce and communities. Helping them settle successfully is crucial to the ongoing prosperity of our province”
“These changes will simplify processes, reduce wait times and make it more fair for applicants across all sectors to apply for permanent residency in Alberta.”
However, this is the only program coming from Alberta for the next year. A recent announcement by AINP sources of introducing a New Opportunity Stream (not aligned with Express Entry) makes it clear that AINP has got two competitive programs coming in for Alberta aspirants.
While the eligibility criteria for New Occupation Stream have been announced, there is no disclosure of this new stream which is supposed to be aligned with Express Entry. Stay tuned to our News Section to receive any updates in this regard in the near future.
