The recent fee hike on H-1B and L-1 categories of the US visa has greatly affected the Indians planning to migrate to the United States. These two categories have been always been a good pathway for service suppliers of India, especially of the IT sector. According to the statistics, India and US share a beneficially inter-dependent commercial relationship and US accounts for about 60 percent of exports from India. The records also reflect that the increasing requirement of trade services in US have created career opportunities for foreign workers and IT professionals from India have been playing a constructive role to fill in these positions and contribute to the growth of the US economy.
Taking into account all these facts, India has recognized that the measures taken by the US to hike fee for H-1B and L-1 categories, and the implementation of these would majorly affect its IT professionals and companies. For that very reason, India has announced a positive talk with the US at the World Trade Organization (WTO). Recently in the month OF March, this measure of fee hike was on H-1B and L-1 categories was reported to the dispute settlement body of WTO by India. The announced consultation would be productive and would result in putting off the measures which could spoil the trade relation between the two countries- India expects.
