Migrating to a different country is a big step in itself. Australia is one of the most prominent places which witnesses high number of immigrants from across the world. Reports show that every year, almost 1,90,000 foreign nationals apply to migrate to Australia. There are several reasons that makes Australia one of the ideal places to migrate.
The booming economy, abundant job opportunities, shortage of skilled workers, good weather conditions, and low crime rate are some of the reasons that attract immigrants. The immigration application process for Australia is usually point- based, which means there are several factors that makes you eligible for Australian permanent residency.
If you are planning to migrate to Australia, one of the most common and easier ways to apply for the process is through the employer nomination scheme. This scheme also increases your chances of getting the status of Australian permanent residency. This scheme is mostly useful for residents who have worked or have a job offer from an Australian company or employer.
Under this scheme, an Australian employer can nominate a highly skilled worker from overseas to fill a position within an organization that usually can’t be filled by an Australian original. Owning a business overseas can also work in your favor. In this case, the Australian government or a state can nominate you for permanent residency to open a business in Australia and contribute to the country’s economy.
If you have a family member or a relative settled in Australia or New Zealand, they can help you in migration too. There are several processes that you need to undergo when you apply to become an Australian resident.
However, possessing the required skillset often gives you an edge over other applicants since most of the migration that takes place is skilled migration. Australia is in dire need of skilled immigrants due to its low population. The Australian occupation list is determined as per the labor market. Residents who have a job offer from any of the in-demand jobs, are more likely to get nominated.

This means that professionals like cotton farmers will now be eligible for a visa of upto 4 year and will be eligible for an extension of up to another four years. After the completion of the term, such residents can apply for permanent residency. The changes have been incorporated with an aim to improve the regional agricultural industry and economy and ensure that the local industries thrive. Two new regional visas have been introduced for the skilled workers.
Under this law, such residents will have to live and work in regional Australia for three years before they can apply for permanent residency. These skilled migrants will have access to priority processing of their application. They will also have access to greater number of job opportunities from the eligible occupation list. The only pre requisition is that these migrants will have to prove that they have lived and worked in any part of Australia for three years.
