On September 6, 2017 CIC conducted the 71st Draw of Express Entry program. Through this program, thousands of skilled professionals are invited to apply for Canadian permanent residency during every Draw. According to the figures, nearly 2772 candidates were issued with an ITA for Canadian PR during this Draw. Canada Express Entry issues these invitations to candidates who were able to meet the CRS threshold set for the respective draw. During the 71st Draw of Express Entry, CRS cutoff was set to 435 points. Thus, candidates with 435 CRS or more were able to take the advantage of this opportunity.
An insight in previous Express Entry Draws of 2017
The year 2017 has been a very fortunate year for the Express Entry applicants. Though they were minute fluctuations in the CRS of each draw conducted since January 2017, the CRS was still in favors of the applicant. The range of CRS remained between 468 and 435 in all 21 Draws conducted since the start of this year. On the contrary, the ITA numbers significantly increased. Overall 66,549 ITAs have been issued by Express Entry so far this year. Comparatively, this is far bigger number than that was issued during the same time last year.
It is believed that the coming year will have more prospects for Canada immigration applications. It will bring in a large number of candidates into Canada on PR visa. When the Canadian immigration Minister, Ahmed Hussein was being interview by the Toronto Life Magazine, and in this context was asked of would the next two years target again be 300,00, he said “I don’t have exact numbers yet, but I can assure you it won’t drop.”
