Canada Express Entry Draws are a much awaited event by Canada immigration applicants and these draws generally occur in a two-week cycle. But this time, the trend experiences a slight shift. Since the last Draw happened on May 31, 2017 no update on Express Entry has been released from the IRCC. In this context, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has something to say of why the next draw may occur later than the expected date (June 14, 2017).
Canadian Immigration authorities in association with the Canadian Government announced a few changes to Canada Express Entry which came into effect from June 2016. These changes were an initiative to enhance the CRS system of the Express System and allot additional points to candidates with siblings in Canada & candidates with knowledge in the French language. During the announcement, IRCC stated ‘the CRS scores of all profiles in the pool will be updated automatically before the next invitation round after the updates. This could take up to two weeks.’
It is believed that the delay in the EE Draw may be a consequence IRCC’s process of updating CRS points in each deserving EE application of the pool. Applications with an ability to meet the new changes have been assured to gain additional points and the new score would be considered for the next Draw. Once all the profiles have been completed with the new CRS update, the next Express Entry Draw may be conducted.
Another important point to note here is that as per IRCC confirmation, profiles will be automatically updated for the CRS as per the information provided in the profiles. Applicants who have declared a sibling in Canada and proved French skills by passing an evident assessment will only be able to claim these points. Hence, applicants who have not updated their profiles are encouraged to make the declarations at the earliest. Also, candidates who are keen to settle in Canada and have not applied for Canada Express Entry are advised to do so without any delay. Any kind of rule change in future hinder an application and can make it difficult for an eligible candidate to obtain an ITA.
