No Handwritten requests of Reconsideration for OINP application- Only Emails

Posted on March 23, 2017

Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program, one of the most popular provincial nomination programs of Canada provides applicants with a chance to file a reconsideration request after their application is rejected. While until March 10, 2017, applicants could send in a handwritten request of reconsideration on the rejection decision, thereon only emails will be accepted. The rule states that when requesting for reconsideration, the applicant must clarify in the mail the error he/she believes has been made in the assessment of the rejection application. Also, the error explained should be connected to the reason of refusal mentioned of his/her application. It is equally important to remember that the request for review must be based on the evaluation conducted during the time of application submission, and no circumstances or changes after submission will be taken into account.

How does OINP Reconsideration Process work?

The OINP has a systematic approach to manage the considerations of applicants who believe that there has been an error in the assessment of their application or profile.  Applicants who believe so must send a request of reconsideration via email to, within 30 days of receiving the refusal letter.
