Nova Scotia PNP sets a new Nova Scotia Immigration Record for 2018

The Year 2018 has been set as a great year for immigrants who planned to get settled with Nova Scotia Immigration. The government of Nova Scotia has approved 2,272 candidates through its immigration programs. This is relatively a great score from the previous year, 2017.

However, it is still in a track for setting a record for this year. Nearly 5,225 have made Nova Scotia as their place of living between January 1st and October 31st. And still, it is expected that with the leftover two months reports, the landings may cross the record of the 2016 year, i.e. with approvals more than 5,485.

Lena Metlege Diab, the Immigration Minister stated that “These numbers reflect the work we have done to attract international talent to our province”. “The success we are seeing will help increase access to important services, grow our population and strengthen our economy — benefiting all Nova Scotians.”

The Labour Market Priorities Stream and the Physician Stream were the two Nova Scotia immigration programs which were introduced by the Nova Scotia PNP.  The Labour Market Priorities Stream allows the immigration government in inviting the skilled candidates from the Express Entry System. The Physician Stream helps in attracting the internationally trained primary care doctors and specialists to make their application process easier and faster.  After its program launch, the program provided nominations to 18 physicians since February.

Additionally, the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program with 872 approved applications was felt behind of Nova Scotia PNP. The Pilot program is a partnership between the Government of Canada and four Atlantic provinces for attracting businesses and skilled workers. On the whole, the province could hire nearly 716 businesses through the program to its required position.

For the year 2018, the Office of Nova Scotia Immigration has set a new status, brand marketing and recruiting strategy for welcoming its newcomers. The Immigration Office has successfully visited 10 International Recruiting Events and participated in 150 Events across the province.
