According to the October’s invitation rounds, the Government of Canada has more than doubled the issue of ITAs (Invitations to Apply) for Canadian permanent residency to the candidates of Express Entry. It is marked as a record because the number of ITAs issued in the month of October is just a bit away from the 2017’s annual total, i.e. with 12,000 invitations difference.
During October 2017, the IRCC has issued just 5,558 ITAs, whereas with an over the course of the three draws, the October month of 2018 issued 11,700 Invitations to Apply (ITAs); which is over the twice of the 2017’s ITA’s count.
With a great score, the October’s ITAs count pushed 74,200 Express Entry candidates to receive ITAs in 2018. The score has resulted so terrific that it is just 11,823 ITAs away from 2017’s total Express Entry’s ITAs issue.
Also, it is expected by the IRCC that, it can easily cross the last year’s total score if the system continues regular draws with similar draw sizes of 3,900 ITAs or more.
Additionally, with regards to the recent update on Canada’s multi-year immigration levels plan, the IRCC targets 81,400 new permanent resident admissions for the year 2019 to Federal High Skilled Immigration Category. Also, the score is targeted for increasing in the years 2020 and 2021 to 85,800 and 88,800 respectively.
Express Entry is the most selective system for permanent residency because the Express Entry behaves as a mandatory gateway to process for candidates from Federal High Skilled category. Also, for the new admissions to Canada through 2021, the economic immigration to Canada will be the most responsible for providing ITAs with updated immigration targets. Hence, with a closure stats, 60% of the admission will be received through the other economic programs and 44% of the admissions will be accounting from Canada Provincial Nominee Program and Federal High Skilled for the coming three years.
Ontario is the Canada’s biggest province aligned with three PNP streams to Express Entry. For the year 2018, the stream resulted in a major contribution of nominations; equal to 95%, i.e. with among 6,600 total allocations 6,411 issued through it. The three streams: the Skilled Trades Stream, Human Capital Priorities Stream, and Speaking Skilled Worker Stream helps the Ontario PNP program to find the skilled candidates meeting the eligibility through Express Entry.
Though the province has reached its allocations, it has been said by the province that, the province will further go ahead in accepting and considering more applications for a PNP nomination.
It has been added by the senior companion of the Campbell Cohen Canadian Immigration Law firm in Montreal, David Cohen that, “It’s been a big year so far for Express Entry, both at the federal and provincial levels”. “At both levels we’ve seen important developments that have reinforced Express Entry’s place as Canada’s leading option for economic immigration candidates.”
