OINP-EE-Human Capital Priorities Stream-Revised Changes

Posted on September 17, 2018

The Ontario province has revised the minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score needed for its famous online immigration application system- Express Entry (EE) –linked Human Capital Priorities Immigration Stream(HCP).

Earlier the applicants were required to have CRS score of minimum 400 but as per the latest update, the minimum score would be decided by the director. That’s not all; applicants are now required to state their interest in immigration to either Ontario province or all territories as well as provinces while creating their EE profile.

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) is an economic immigration program created for the purpose of meeting both labor market as well as economic development needs. So far this year, the above program has scraped the requirement of CRS of minimum 400 in 3 draws. Out of this 3 draws 2 draws target was EE applicants having a job offer in Ontario province and the remaining 1 draw target was applicants having French language abilities of CLB 7 or higher.

Out of the above 3 draws, 1 draw was conducted on 9th August 2018; its target was job offer candidates. In this draw, candidates who have scored as low as 350 were sent invites.

Ontario’s most popular and active immigration pathway is HCP. It enables the OINP to find the Federal EE pool for applicants who match the stream’s set eligibility requirement.

As of now this province has issued nearing to 3,534 Notifications of Interest to Canada Express Entry applicants who have been selected through the HCP in the year 2018.

The EE applicants who have got notification of interest can apply to the above province for a provincial nomination.

The EE system handles efficiently the applicant profiles for three Economic Immigration, the Federal Skilled Trades Class, the  Federal Skilled Worker Class and the Canadian Experience Class.

All those EE applicants who got a provincial nomination for Permanent Residency from this province are awarded extra 600 points towards their CRS Score, thus offering them a guarantee that these applicants would get Invitation to Apply (ITA) in a subsequent draw from the EE pool.
