Ontario’s Immigrant Nominee re-opened for this yearPosted on February 20, 2017
Today, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee program re-opened and begun the acceptance of applications for its three popular program streams- Ontario Express Entry Human Capital Priorities Stream, International PhD Graduate Stream and the International Masters Graduate Stream. These programs were paused since May 2016 last year, after the cap had reached 5,500 applications. This year, the program re-opened with a cap of 500 more applications, i.e. a total of 6000 applications. Another good news is this year the program is shifting into a paperless system, which would eventually ease and improve the processing timelines.
Statistics show that from 2007-2015 Ontario’s Immigrant Nominee Program has helped the Canadian economy filled over 3,500 job vacancies. Moreover, around one-quarter nominees of this program for 2015 belong to tech work sector.
As the quota of this program usually fills pretty fast, eligible applicants should do not delay their application- sources say.
