Ontario’s Targeted Occupations for Express Entry Invitations
Posted on July 5, 2017Coming straight from the columns of CICnews, we have the list of Ontario targeted occupations for Express Entry. According to the list, majority of candidates in the Express Entry with experience especially in Information & Communications Technology occupations were given high priority by the province of Ontario. As per the released list, Ontario has clarified that the following occupations have been targeted for selection and were eligible to receive Notifications of Interest from the Ontario Province (despite their CRS was less than 400 points)
NOC 0131: Telecommunication Carriers Managers
NOC 0213: Computer and Information Systems Managers
NOC 2133: Electrical and Electronics Engineers
NOC 2147: Computer Engineers (Except Software Engineers and Designers)
NOC 2171: Information Systems Analysts and Consultants
NOC 2172: Database Analysts and Data Administrators
NOC 2173: Software Engineers and Designers
NOC 2174: Computer Programmers and Interactive Media Developers
NOC 2175: Web Designers and Developers
NOC 2241: Electrical and Electronics Engineering Technologists and Technicians
NOC 2281: Computer Network Technicians
NOC 2282: User Support Technicians
NOC 2283: Systems Testing Technicians
NOC 5224: Broadcast Technicians
NOC 5241: Graphic Designers and Illustrators
During the announcement of this initiative no specific list of targeted occupations was provided. However, on July 4 the province listed the major occupations mentioned above. The province majorly focused on selection of ICT occupants who have applied under the Express Entry aligned with Human Capital Priorities Stream (a part of the Ontario Nominee Program)
It is believe that considering the growing requirement of ICT professionals in the country, the province may target and give high priority of the same sector in the years to come. Hence, ICT professionals who are keen to settle in Ontario must get ready with their application under Express Entry.
