Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) invited candidates from both Express Entry pool and Occupations In-Demand streams. This was the first draw from Saskatchewan for the year 2020.
The candidates required to submit an Expression of Interest with SINP wherein they needed one year of work experience related to the studied field. They did not have the requirement for a job offer in this draw.
The candidates are awarded total points out of 100 on the SINP’s International Skilled Worker Points Assessment Grid. These points are calculated when an EOI is submitted in Saskatchewan portal. SINP assess the points based on age, experience, education, English skills, and connection in Saskatchewan.
The highest-scoring candidates get the invitation to apply through regular draws. This invitation is based on their score ranking in the EOI pool.
A minimum score of 69 points was required for the candidates to get an invitation from SNIP in both the categories.
SINP invited 142 candidates whose profiles are in federal Express Entry pool. Federal Express Entry pool linked to Saskatchewan’s Express Entry sub-category manages candidates profile under 3 programs:
Candidates who are in the Express Entry pool and also submitted an EOI for SINP and scores 69 points on their assessment grid, must have received a nomination invitation for the January 09th draw to apply for the provincial nominee.
Upon the receiving the provincial nomination certificate from Saskatchewan the candidates will receive additional 600 points in the CRS score. This will result in the guaranteed ITA from the following draw for Canada permanent residency.
Occupations In-Demand category is for the candidates who do not have a profile in federal Express Entry Pool.
Around 166 candidates were invited under Occupations In-demand sub-category and these candidates also required having 69 points like the Express Entry sub-category.
A few months ago, SINP has come up with Excluded Occupations List instead of In-demand list. This showed the change in demand for the province’s labour market.
The invitation was given to 308 candidates in 82 in-demand occupations. Few occupations are agriculture, administrative officers, and electronic service technicians for household and business equipment.
