Quebec has come up with new rules for the rise in requirements for sponsor’s financial support and application fees effective from January 2020. These rules came into effect as there was a change in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) average of the province.
On January 01, 2020, the settlement funds and financial capacity amount of sponsorer would increase along with the application processing fees.
There was a change in consumer pricing of about 1.72% for this year 2020 in Quebec. This percentage does not include alcohol, tobacco, and cannabis.
To sponsor family members for permanent residency in Quebec, the sponsorer should determine that they have marked the required annual gross income. The requirements vary based on the number of family members in the sponsor’s household and the number of individuals to be sponsored.

Additionally, apart from the basic annual income, the sponsorer also needs to meet the requirements of the people to bring it to Quebec. From January 01, 2020, the Quebec government expects the sponsorer to maintain funds for three months before the arrival of the sponsored family members. Following the table below states, the funds to show based on the number of family members being sponsored.

The processing fees to apply for permanent residency in Quebec have also subjected to an increase from January 01, 2020. For the primary applicant, the fee is $812 and each additional member fee is $174 included in the application. The application fees should be paid fully in Canadian Currency.
