The Australian Capital Territory (ACT) has renewed its visa program with the points based system. With this, it has successfully replaced its previous first-come, first-serve system. Additionally, on 29th November 2018, Australian Capital Territory has updated its skilled occupation list by removing and adding few occupations. For information about the changes and updates, let us check the below information.
After its closure on 29th June 2018, the government reviewed and reopened the visa program with a new points based system. This change has made the system completely different from the previous system. According to the ACT parameters and requirements, the interested candidates have to gain at least 20 points.
In order to be part of the ACT’s new visa program, the candidates have to launch an Expression of Interest by meeting the Eligibility Requirements of the ACT.
Candidates planning for Australia PR through the new ACT program should have a strong presence in the region. Since, the system is points-based, candidates have to get a good score in order to get eligibility and an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Australian Permanent Residency. The points are allotted on various factors, such as for having a study or stay in Canberra, language skills of the primary and secondary member, etc.
