On July 4, 2016, the South Australian Immigration Department has released an updated State Nominated Occupation List. Sources reveal that the list was prepared after a comprehensive analysis of the Australian labor market, being drawn from the Consolidated Skilled Occupation List of Australia. Considering the skills shortage prevailing in Australia and its impact on the Australian job market, the occupations have been listed. While the skills shortage of the country remains the major criteria, factors like age of the current workforce, the availability of local as well as international graduates to fill in the skills gap and interstate migration have been equally taken into account when preparing the list, sources say.
